Schulamid 612 compounds have low moisture absorption, good chemical resistance, and no oligomers extractions comparing nylon 12. They are suitable for fuel system applications and are good alternatives to nylon 12 compounds. This presentation describes Schulamid 612 compounds portfolio and application examples.
This presentation reviews some of the basic approaches to improving wear and friction performance in thermoplastic compounds and introduces some newer ideas in non-halogenated wear compounds.
This presentation compares the differences in color and gloss retention between QUV, Xenon, Florida and Arizona testing for 4 different Acrylate-Styrene-Acrylonitrile (ASA) polymers in white, almond and black colors. The results show the similarities and differences between the accelerated weathering test methods versus Florida and Arizona four-year test results leading into a discussion of performance lifetime predictability for the ASA materials studied.
SABIC XENOY ENH2900 resin provides a unique value proposition to meet application requirement of excellent chemical resistance and non-Br/Cl flame retardant.
Cyclic olefin copolymers (COC) provide film manufacturers and converters with an opportunity to create thin, stiff, and high barrier protective packaging products. Protective packaging is an excellent illustrative application to showcase COC as effective and efficient polyethylene modifier. Key COC performance benefits include low nitrogen and water permeability, higher stiffness, lower tear resistance and broad heat sealing window.
TA Instruments is the world leader in rheology and thermal instruments. One of our thermal/rheology instruments is the dynamic mechanical analyzer (DMA). For several years, the Q800 DMA has been the leader among DMA instruments, but, in late 2017, TA Instruments introduced the new Discovery DMA850 as the next generation DMA. The capabilities of this instrument, along with a comparison of its performance against the Q800 DMA, will be presented.
Impact PP Copolymers for Home Appliance Applications discusses some of SABIC's offerings for both high flow impact copolymers PP and high glass and scratch resistant impact copolymers pp.

Increasingly, overmolding is being used to enhance the functionality of a product. This presentation outlines several case studies highlighting Teknor Apex’s unique Thermoplastic Elastomer (TPE) solutions for overmolding applications, where properties beyond good adhesion and haptics, are required.
Wittmann Battenfeld continues to refine Micro Molding with the introduction of a true Two Component Micro Molding machine.Machine features to be presented will be basic two shot intro, tooling applications, material selections and after molding solutions that will show the latest Scara robot that accompanies this machine.Part examples and case studies can be presented. This machine is based on the proven design of the MicroPower machine with refinements to incorporate two shot molding.Visual demonstrations of this progression will be included in our presentation.
XPS converters are at the limit of being able to further lightweight foodservice packaging and food packaging containers without sacrificing performance.Total has developed a new grade of high heat crystal polystyrene that allows converters to lightweight their packaging applications without sacrificing performance or processing.
A new generation of non-Erdmenger mixing geometries has been developed for the multi-screw Ring Extruder which is based on twelve co-rotating and intermeshing screws to produce elongational flow for improved dispersive mixing. This paper will introduce these new element designs and their implementation on twin-screw compounding extruders.
Advanced extrusion control. Helping deliver and efficient and secure process while maintaining high standards of production quality and ease cybersecurity worries.
This paper will examine:-Key inter-TPE competitions and how they are changing-The impacts of commoditization and globalization of the TPE marketplace-Supply chain shifts affecting TPEs-Important new TPE/fabrication couples, their impact on the marketplaceand strategies for competing in new TPE sectors including sensing, smart applications, vehicle electrification
This paper describes the fabrication and application of auxetic foam sensor using silver nanowire as the sensing element.
